The Moretti brewing legend goes back five generations to 1859 when the brewery was established by Luigi Moretti in Udine, in the Friuli region. This is still the production centre though output has been expanded about 1000 times that of the original brewery. Moretti is the only Italian beer to enjoy real commercial success in the discerning German market. After this international success that has been recognised with medals and awards around the world, Moretti became part of the Heineken Group.

Casoni, with world-wide recognition, started to distil anis in 1814 and today still follows the traditional slow method. The company has been managed for six generations by the Casoni family and production is based near Modena. Automatic lines have been installed to produce over 100,000 bottles daily. Yet still the whole production from the selection of ingredients to bottling is according to time proven methods.
